Judi will be entering her fourth year as the head Cheerleading coach. Although she has been involved with West Salem High since 2004. She was recently the Cheerleading Booster President, along with a Titan concession Mom who spent countless hours serving titan dogs to fans rain or shine.
Judi was born in St. Helens, Oregon on January 26, 1968. She is the youngest of 5 daughters. Her family moved to Salem when she was 6 years old. She attended McKay High School.
After her time at McKay Judi married and started her family, which she claims to be her proudest accomplishment! As her children grew older Judi began a career as a Real Estate Broker with Gladys Blum. In pursuit of a bigger challenge, Judi then went to work for AmeriTitle as an Escrow Officer where she remains today.
Judi resides in West Salem with her husband Rob. Her oldest son Kyle lives in Portland with his wife Heidi and soon to be daughter Mattison. Her other son Ryan also lives in Portland and is an avid snowboarder, he is also a talented singer. Jake her third son, is a 2008 graduate of WSHS. In addition, Jake is remembered as one of Titan Football's best after intercepting the pass that sealed the deal versus Sprague in West Football's first ever win over the Olympians. McKenna, Judi's youngest attended WSHS and is involved now as a coach for Titan Cheer.
In her spare time Judi enjoys reading, but above all else spending time with her family.
This will be Coach Shanel's fourth year coaching cheerleading for West Salem High School. Shanel's duties will be coaching the JV and Varsity squads.
Shanel was born and raised in Gilroy, California. In high school Shanel was on the JV cheer team for one year and Varsity for two. Her senior year she was one of the varsity captains. During her time as a Gilroy High School Cheerleader ... Go Mustangs! LOL! her teams went to many competitions and were able to place in the top ten at nationals at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. They were also invited to perform in the Pro Bowl pre game and half time shows in Hawaii. Shanel also cheered on a competitive cheer team for a year before moving to Oregon.
Shanel has always loved coaching not just for the love of cheer, but also for the chance to be a positive mentor for her girls. She knows what it take to be a role model on and off the field.
Shanel and her husband Andrew have been married for four and a half years and on October 5, 2011 Shanel gave birth to their very own little Titan Cheerleader, their first daughter Ella Kayleen.
This will be McKenna's second year coaching.
McKenna has many years of experience cheering. She spent 4 years in competitive cheer (with Jags and Champion Cheer athletics) and participated in high school cheer for all 4 years. She was captain her junior and senior years.
During her senior year, she was chosen to cheer at the Les Schwab bowl. This is a game where Oregon is split into two teams North and South , to compete against each other. The cheer squads are formed the same way to cheer their teams on!
McKenna's passion is cheerleading and helping and encouraging girls to do what they love. She coaches both JV and Varsity. Last year, McKenna was invited to try out for the Blazer stunt team and also to be a UCA staff member.
McKenna also recently graduated from College of Hair Design Careers and is a hairstylist at Salon Mecca in downtown Salem.
Her hero is her mom because she always puts her family first and has such a big heart and cares about everyone!
